Community Grants

COMMUNITY NEEDS COMMITTEE

The Community Needs Committee provides grants of up to $5,000 for Midland County youth-oriented projects that might otherwise fall through the cracks. These grants are designated for area clubs or organizations with a 501(C)3 tax exemption status and made to support specific one-time needs. Requests should demonstrate a broad and diverse community-wide impact and must be sponsored and reviewed by a Midland Rotarian.

Applications are reviewed quarterly but can be submitted any time.

MIDLAND ROTARY FOUNDATION

The Midland Rotary Foundation (MRF) makes grants to benefit disadvantaged youth in Midland County ranging up to $5,000. Priority is given to projects as ongoing operations is not typically funded. The MRF grant application process utilizes the Midland Service Alliance form and can be found via the link below:

The grant cycle for the MRF is April 1st and October 1st.

Community Scholarships

The Midland Rotary Foundation Scholarship Committee awards six scholarships annually from funds that were established by families of late club members.

  • William Dixon Scholarship - three awards at $1,500 each

  • Herbert H. Hardy Scholarship - two awards of $2,500 each (Applicants should have a Public Service major (Public Administration, City and Government, Economic Development, Law Enforcement, Paramedic, Firefighter, etc.) to be eligible for the Hardy scholarship.)

  • C.A. Campbell Scholarship - one award of $1,300 (Humanities focus for the Campbell scholarship is preferred and should be explained in application)

spirit of rotary award

This annual award is presented on behalf of the Midland Rotary Club to a non-Rotarian under the age of 40 who leads a life of service above self and demonstrates leadership potential. Qualifying nominees actively support the Midland community, live a life consistent with the Rotary motto of ‘service above self,’ and exemplify the Rotarian Four-Way Test:

  1. ​Is it the Truth?

  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?

  3. Will it bring Good Will and Better Friendships?

  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Nominees must receive the endorsement of a member of the Midland Rotary Club.

Would You Like to Become a Member?

We welcome guests and invite prospective members to visit one of our club meetings. Once you have met us and wish to join, a current club member will need to sponsor you. To begin the process, complete our online New Member Application and we will contact your sponsor. Once your application is submitted, our review and vetting process takes a couple of weeks and following that, you will be contacted by someone from our Member Orientation and Social Committee with details on becoming a Rotarian!
