new member application Form

We welcome guests and invite prospective members to visit one of our club meetings. Once you have met us and wish to join, a current club member will need to sponsor you. To begin the process, complete the New Member Application below and we will contact your sponsor. Once your application is submitted, our review and vetting process takes a couple of weeks and following that, you will be contacted by someone from our Member Orientation and Social Committee with details on becoming a new Rotarian!

Midland Rotary Member Obligations

MIDLAND ROTARY COMMITTEES

All of our service projects are championed by one or more of our committees! And since we are an international service club, our expectation is that you will find a committee to join. Our committees generally align to one or more of our six focus areas, so find one that suits your passion!

Executive Committee – These are the Officers of Rotary. They develop goals, objectives and strategic priorities for our club.

Community Needs – Supports the financial needs of youth-oriented projects that might otherwise fall through the cracks.

Fellowship and Service – Participates in community-wide events in order to promote Rotary and our motto, “Service Above Self”.

Focus on Youth – Engages youth and encouraging positive behaviors through involvement with Rotary. Promotes and supports the best interests of youth in our club and community.

Fundraising – Develops and promotes Rotary events to create awareness of and generate income for Rotary initiatives.

Member and Social Networking – Orients and integrates new Rotary members by introducing them to other members and to Rotary Club happenings.

Midland Rotary Foundation – Is a separate 501(c)(3) charitable corporation established so that Rotarians could make tax deductible contributions that would benefit the Midland area and Rotary causes. (Participation on this committee is limited.)

Peace Building - Identifies, evaluates, and selects opportunities for peace building initiatives both locally and globally in collaboration with the Midland Chapter of the Nonviolent Peaceforce and other relevant organizations; aligning projects with Rotary International's priorities, specifically the focus area of "Promoting Peace".

Programs – Handles all aspects of the weekly programs.

Spirit of Rotary – Identifies young adults who represent the ideals of Rotary and selects candidates to receive the Spirit of Rotary Award.

Stewards of Rotary – Maintains the history of the Club, reaches out to members who may be suffering from long-term or debilitating illnesses, and partners younger members with more senior members as mentors.

FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS

Annual dues are $210, with a small one-time fee for new members to cover the cost of new badge and pin. Fees are pro-rated, with our fiscal year beginning in July. In addition, every year we host a pancake supper and members are provided $130 in tickets. Our “ask” is that you give the Club $130 representing ticket sales or a donation. All proceeds generated go toward supporting charitable organizations in Midland County. During the course of the year, we will ask for your support (optional) in helping us eradicate polio and other causes supported through our Rotary International Foundation. An “ask” will be made to support our local Midland Rotary Foundation (also optional) which provides scholarships to deserving youth in Midland County. Our weekly lunch is $15 (optional - not required to eat lunch).
