Redeveloping a Midland Historic Park

Looking to commemorate their 100th anniversary, The Midland Rotary Club recently adopted Grove Park in Midland and has been instrumental in positive change and community impact through a renovation project in conjunction with the City of Midland and other local businesses and neighborhood entities. The Grove Park renovation project, located in the "midtown neighborhood" is the first step in the redevelopment of a historic park in the City of Midland.

This project will provide for the construction of a pavilion near the recently renovated playground as well as for the replacement of a basketball court located close to the children’s playground area. These new assets would provide positive recreational opportunities to children, youth and their families who live in the neighborhood. With the support and encouragement of Midland Rotary and resident interest, the city conducted a neighborhood input session. Following that, the city engaged a park planner to develop a comprehensive plan for Grove Park.  Approximately 40 residents attended, sharing their ideas for the park. Midland Rotarians attended both the neighborhood input session and the park master plan session.
